Bostonians in 1770 are described by Gov. Thomas Hutchinson.

In a letter to former governor Francis Bernard on March 30, 1770, he writes, “They are infatuated; there is no hope of reasoning with them; and in this situation the friends of government are helpless, and will remain helpless until there are firm assurances of strong, steady support from England.”
